Choose an allegiance and explore East London to discover the ancient secrets of a perfect stranger.
In May 2015, A Door In A Wall took 2600 players beyond mere murder mystery into something a little more adventurous:
The flurry of activity that followed the sudden demise of a perfect stranger was unexpected. There seemed no suggestion of foul play and he had no apparent close friends or family. Even his colleagues were not entirely certain what he did. But from the moment he collapsed on the floor of the bank, Professor Paul Marrane attracted the attention of some powerful figures.
Whispered rumours hint at a highly unusual life.
Now representatives of four influential organisations are descending upon the area of Poplar in east London, eager to be present at the reading of his will. Staking a successful claim to the estate will offer each of these factions Marrane's possessions — and his secrets. But what are their ultimate designs?
Collaborating with East London housing association Poplar HARCA, A Door In A Wall created an immersive landscape of clues, puzzle and characterful environments for teams to explore. Dispatched from the wood-panelled offices of Alder & Alder, players had to navigate military missions, spiritual soul-searching, banking boardrooms and scientific solutions in order to prove themselves the worthy heirs of Paul Marrane's secret legacy.
“The actors were INCREDIBLE!! It was so well organised and so clever”
